My New Home: Before and After Pics

Hey there people and Happy Sunday to you. It has been a whirlwind of a week for me with the house move and everything else, but I am feeling nice and settled in here in Cottingham now. Everything is unpacked and the house looks quite lovely actually :)

I thought I'd share with you some of the before and after pics from our little homemaking project. Enjoy!!

Before

The living room all empty except for the thrifted curtains I told you about.

 Our lovely light filled kitchen.

The study room, with our new bookshelves in ready to house all of our books.

 The master bedroom.

Did I mention the walk in wardrobes in the main bedroom? Mirrored and everything!

A little peek inside the wardrobe with some of our things already inside.

The back garden. With lovely trees and the scent of honeysuckle. We haven't really done anything in there at all yet. But we will.

After

The study. I now have two lovely big desks plus book cases full of books!!

 Look - two desks!!

The master bedroom. Complete with furniture and teddies!

The awesome walk in wardrobes. So lovely to have.

Our bed - all set up and ready to go.

The kitchen - now full of life (and food!)

The kitchen is big enough for a table and chairs too!

The living room. All of our furniture and little knick knacks have found a home.

Russian dolls that match the wallpaper? Don't mind if I do.

The sideboard - hider of messy things. Plus the wall space where the projector can be seen. Plus Murphy, sneaking into the frame.

There is still a lot of little things to do: re-organising drawers and shelves for example. But overall we have been really pleased with how quickly we've turned this little place into our home.

Have a great Sunday people!

ps. I have been experimenting with using Photoshop to brighten up some of the pics for this post. I am still learning how to use it, but it's definitely fun!!

pps. Don't forget to come back tomorrow and link up all things inspirational!

It looks great! You have definitely made it look like home. I really like the way you've turned the chairs into night tables by the bed. That's a brilliant idea! It looks so cute! And Murphy is adorable and should be seen!

This is awesome! I love seeing home makeover projects on blogs. I just bought a house and can't wait to redecorate... so it's fun seeing inspiration everywhere.

That is pretty awesome that the matryoshka dolls match the wallpaper!

Wow! Sarah, you did a great job! Your house is full of light, love and cozy personality, I can see that real people live there! Murphy is clearly stealing the show (or maybe it's just me being prejudiced because I've got two felines at home, as well). This is my kind of post - a full house tour before and after! I love that the pics are exactly from the same angle as the before and I'm gladly following back :)

I like it that you used the term “homemaking”, and not merely arranging things in the house. It does take a lot of personal effort to make a house a home. With what I’m seeing in the pictures, the place is already getting that cozy feel, particularly the living room. Good job!

From bare and dull looking, you transformed your new home into a lovely and fully-furnished one. It's amazing that you fit your furniture just right, like what you did to your two tables at the study. But what I like the most is the mirrored walk in wardrobes as it made your bedroom look bigger and longer.

Those Russian babushka dolls fit well on that platform, as it blends well with the wallpaper and other ornaments displayed. But the area that I like the most is the kitchen. I mean, the area is so clean, and the sink and the whole countertop seem spotless. The wooden accent everywhere also matches with the floor. You must’ve been putting your 100% effort in setting up a gorgeous kitchen like that.

Wow! I love what you did to the place. The “before” pictures were actually nice and all, but when you added the furniture, it was like the place came alive. I laughed when your nesting dolls matched the wallpaper in your living room! I mean, who would have thought? You have a great home! I hope you will enjoy living there in the future.
